As the British economy starts to recover from lockdown, we can see thousands of job openings, as new hires in companies start to pick up. For each one, we get hundreds of applications, but only hire one candidate.
So, what happens to the rest who were not as successful? Do you discard them? Isn’t that a waste of valuable potential?? Can they be put forward for other roles?
These “lost” contacts are sitting in your CRM and not being revisited to fill new upcoming roles.? Instead of posting on job boards, when was the last time you revisited these candidates?? You will not know if you already have the most suitable candidate until you look again at your database.
You should be actively be looking at re-engaging them and constantly going through your existing data.
Why re-engagement is worth your time
You are always looking at new talent to fill your job hires; you post jobs on sites, and constantly look at new CVs, but if you did revisit your existing candidates on your data and re-engaged that talent, the hiring process has to be faster.? You have all their information, references, and client interview feedback.? You ultimately end up spending less time doing the grunt work and more time filling vacancies.
From a cost savings point of view, it costs much more to constantly find new candidates, when you have previously sourced candidates on your database and already incurred costs to acquire them.? So why keep doubling, tripling your costs, when by simply re-engaging with your existing talent you may already have the best person for the job you are looking to fill?
Another advantage is, you may already have built up a relationship with that candidate, you may have put them forward to other roles, and then lost touch over time for the usual reasons.? They are trusted by you to put them forward, so why take a risk with someone you have just met over someone who has been on your database for a while and can be vouched for?
What is stopping you cleaning out your database?
Re-engaging with past candidates in your database is the best way to keep costs low, deliver quickly to your clients and ensure that your recruitment agency is making the best of the current situation.? Whichever report you read, the world has changed, and for the short term, we all need to rethink how we do things; from how we shop, socialise, and eat out.? So why not reassess how you fill job vacancies for your clients?
